About Me

Engineering, education and applied research — from the lecture theatre to the production server

I am a computing professional and educator based in Pokhara, Nepal, with a Bachelor's in Computer Application from Pokhara University and over seven years of industry experience building production web systems in PHP, Laravel and modern front-end frameworks. I teach Internet Technology and Web Development at Pokhara College of Management, where I translate commercial practice into rigorous, project-based coursework for undergraduate IT students.

My work sits at the intersection of engineering, education and applied research. As Co-Founder and Managing Director of SATRI (Samarth Technical Research and Innovations), I lead a Pokhara-based technology company delivering IT training, web development and digital solutions. I also serve as Director — International Area on the 2025 Board of Directors of JCI Pokhara, overseeing the chapter's global partnerships, exchanges and representation within a youth leadership network spanning 200,000+ members across 115 countries.

Currently I am pursuing a Master of Information Technology — Artificial Intelligence at Gandaki University, where my research applies machine-learning classification to student mental-health data. That work produced a peer-reviewed paper on ResearchGate demonstrating that academic pressure and sleep duration are the strongest predictors of student depression — findings with direct implications for early-intervention policy at the institutional level.

Committed to community capacity-building across Gandaki Province, I have facilitated 20+ workshops and guest sessions at institutions including Code for Change Nepal, CSITAN Pokhara, Nepal Engineering Association, Gandaki University, Pokhara College of Management, LA Grandee International College and Pinnacle Academy — spanning UI/UX design, full-stack development, data analytics, digital marketing and AI in education. I also direct academic operations at Pinnacle Academy, where I oversee curriculum design, teacher training and the adoption of contemporary pedagogical frameworks.

Predicting Student Depression Using Machine Learning

Student depression has a measurable effect on academic performance, social life and wellbeing, yet conventional diagnosis is slow and subjective. This study tested whether it can be predicted from routine data instead. Using a dataset of approximately 27,900 student records covering demographic, academic and lifestyle variables, we compared logistic regression, random forest and gradient boosting. All three performed in a similar band around the mid-0.70s. The feature analysis proved the more actionable result: academic pressure and sleep emerged as the strongest predictors.
